Bereits um 06:00 Uhr warteten wir, bis uns Chem (ein alter Thailänder und Longtail-Besitzer) mit dem Boot bei unserem Hotel am Railay Beach abholte. Auf der halbstündigen Fahrt durften wir den Sonnenaufgang genießen bis wir schließlich am Peer in Hat Yai abgesetzt wurden. Mit einem Taxi fuhren wir dann zur Ostküste von Thailand um von dort mit dem Speed Boot nach Koh Phangan zu gelangen.
Das Frühstück von der Tankstelle (siehe unten) war – sagen wir es mal so – gerade noch genießbar.
Die Insel Koh Phangan ist berühmt für ihre Moon-Parties, also Half- und Fullmoon-Parties. Im Süden der Insel wird somit fast durchgehend gefeiert. Bei den Fullmoon-Parties treffen sich bis zu 10.000 Partywillige um den Süden der Insel unsicher zu machen. 
Unter anderem aus diesem Grund haben wir uns dazu entschieden eine Unterkunft im Nord-Westen der Insel zu suchen.
