Hier kann der von Mönschen gepflegte Garten sowie die größte Buddha Statue von Australien bewundert werden. Der Gebetstempel wurde von Dalai Lama gesponsert.
Nimbin
Nimbin ist ein kleines Hippie-Dorf im Landesinneren und ca. eine Stunde von Byron Bay entfernt. Nimbin hat seine eigene Gesetze,,,siehe unten

Fraser Island, die größte aus Sand betehende Insel der Welt. Wir machten einen Tagesauflug dorthin. Ohne 4-WD Auto kommt man hier nicht voran; sogar der Tourbus blieb hängen. Unter anderem bewunderten wir dort den Lake Mc Kenzie und ein Schiffswrack.

The Boulders
Kurz vor Cairns in der Nähe unseres Campingplatzes besuchten wir the Boulders. Ein wunderschöner Süßwasserfluss mit Wasserfällen und diversen Steinformationen. Der Weg entlang des Flusses führt durch den Urwald. Da es dort Unmengen an Riesenspinnen und sonstigen unheimlichen Tieren gab, beschloss ich geduckt hinter Martin im Gänsemarsch zu spazieren 😉

Den letzen Abend verbrachten wir in Cairns dirket am Strand. Wir waren zuerst zwar etwas skeptisch wegen der Krokodilwahnung, aber zum Glück ist uns keines begegnet.Vom Baden im Meer wird hier aber abgeraten.
Besuch bei den Aborigines
Hier lernten wir wie man ohne Feuerzeug oder Zündhölzer Feuer macht sowie Speer und Bumerang werfen.
Mit dem Camper mussten wir uns auch von unseren erworbenen Surfboards trennen. Leider konnten wir die Boards nicht mehr verkaufen und musstenkjkj sie somit schweren Herzens beim Camperverleih zurücklassen.
